Warsong Gulch Guide
Author:admin Date:7/30/2009 Source:http://www.faysale.com
For Warsong Gulch, the simple concept is not often translated into the mechanics of winning the game. Capturing the flag three times before they do is your goal, whether it is the blue flag or the red flag that you are after. Chances are that your love for the flag is based on the sweet honor point rewards it offers. These tips and tricks will help you get to that reward a lot sooner.
It's good to know where you're at, especially when you or a teammate needs help. If you have the flag, calling out the area where you're at in Battleground Chat is the best and quickest way to get help.
The Base consists of the flag room, roof and tunnel. Speed buff is available in tunnel.
Graveyard is the area where you spawn after being killed, including ramp and area in front of graveyard next to the house with the Restoration buff.
Middle is the area between each Base. Berserking buff is available in front of both ramps. Use the logs and houses to get out of line of sight of enemies.
A straight line is the quickest way to any destination. Ideally you were able to grab the flag, hit auto-run and head straight to your base to capture the flag. Luckily for us, Warsong Gulch isn't that boring. There're a few routes that will get you to your base quicker than an engineering flying mount.
Straight Line only works if you've a group to help you or if you're quick with your class skills. Simply you can take the flag, go down the Tunnel (if you're by yourself, using the Speed buff to dash out the tunnel), once you're in the Middle, use any speed enhancements. Try to avoid crowds of enemies, but if you end up meeting one or all ten of them, slow them down or heal while you're moving. It's very important to always keep moving. Head up your Tunnel, grab the Speed buff and capture the flag.
If the tunnel filled with people that want nothing more than to break your legs off, you must take the ramp. What you do is to grab the flag, take the right exit (towards the graveyard) run up the small indoor ramp, head out of the base and run to your left towards the ramp. You do this as quickly as possible; your enemies are very likely to spawn right behind you. Taking the left exit will allow you to exit the enemy area without the people that are waiting for their respawn to see you exiting with their flag. From here, it depends on how your Tunnel and Ramp are looking like. If you're going to go up your ramp, don't grab the Berserking buff because it will increase all damage taken by 10%. You should head up your Ramp and enter your base through the entrance closest to you. And then you can go in a straight line and jump down to your left when you're in the flag room to capture the flag.
